With Redar Park nearby, many Schererville homes rest above damp, spongy soil that refuses to fully dry out. In ZIP code 46375, ground moisture seeps up through dirt crawl space floors and collects under homes, especially after spring rain. That lingering humidity doesn’t just sit quietly below—it feeds wood rot, musty odors, and makes upstairs air feel stuffy. Ventilated crawlspaces sometimes make the problem worse, pulling outdoor moisture inside. Pests and sagging floors can follow. The only real fix in Schererville is a full sealing system: crawl space waterproofing that stops water at its source and keeps your home dry above.
EverDry works all over Schererville, where crawl space conditions change from one street to the next. Some homes face chronic dampness, while others battle musty odors or sagging floors.
Homes close to Redar Park in 46375 often deal with soft, wet soil under the crawl space. Here, full encapsulation and drainage are needed to stop ground vapor and keep floors above solid and safe.
Southeast Schererville gets humid crawlspaces thanks to the low-lying landscape. Many houses here benefit from EZ Breathe ventilation and a vapor barrier to keep musty air from rising indoors.
In the northwest part of town, poor grading often sends stormwater straight toward crawl spaces. Interior drainage with a waterproofing system provides a reliable fix for standing water after heavy rain.
Along the U.S. 30 corridor, older homes sometimes have sagging floors from years of humidity below. Crawl space support and encapsulation in this area keep your foundation steady and living space more comfortable.

Jim Glick came and explained everything very well. What the company covers and how their system works. He understood what I was looking for and offered me just that.Posted on Google Melanie PageTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. David came out and spent 90 minutes being one of the best salesmen I've ever encountered in real life. He FIRST tells you which color on the test means mold before he tests for mold. It's the bad color. He FIRST tells you which number is acceptable for wall moisture before he places the device on the wall and gets the measurement. It's a bad measurement. He tells you the things floating in the flashlight beam is also mold, though I could have sworn those were known as dust motes. He tells you how water falls into the hole that was dug to create your home and everything is moving, just like when you stand on the beach and the water washes in and you feel yourself slowly sinking. You know what it's like to stand on a beach. He tells you with their special machine, you'll never have to dust again. He tells you have a really nice house and you've taken good care of it, praising your home and efforts, but if you trust EverDry, they can make everything great, permanently, so you don't feel like you're living in a dump. He takes photos and prints them from the trunk of his Cadillac. He measures the square footage and then pulls out a pre-made sheet and tells you the total cost to do all the things: $28,000. You don't even have water in your basement; you just want to add longevity to the current foundation. You feel like nothing about the offer is tailor made to your home because there is no itemized estimate. He lets you know that if you want financing, it's about 10% to 11% interest that compounds daily. You need to put $500 down. Your house is so tempting, he says, because he feels that if he can squeeze you in between other jobs when the crew is waiting around, they'll reduce the price. However, you have to agree that you will only get 24-48 hours' notice. You tell him you work from home and can't have noise while you're working. He continues to say you only get 24-48 hours' if you want the special deal, so you feel like he doesn't care and isn't listening. You say you need time to talk to your bank about financing, and he emphasizes that financing is financing, that you'll have to pay off the loan faster through your bank and that you should sign with him today. You tell him you're going to take a week to think about it. Uninvited, he says he'll stop by in two days. Later, you get a call from EverDry asking how David was. You are evasive and say that he said everything clearly, because he did. He was very clearly a salesman who wanted to close on a $28,000 contract after a 90-minute spiel. But we're not done yet. Two weeks later, you receive communication from EverDry asking you to confirm an appointment to go over pricing options at your home. You do not confirm the appointment, as you never made an appointment. EverDry had more invited themselves to your home. So, if that's what you're looking for as a homeowner, 5/5 stars, no notes.Posted on Google Emmanuel MelecioTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It’s pretty common in Schererville, especially for homes close to Redar Park or with spongy soil. Water follows the slope and collects under crawl spaces in ZIP code 46375. Even after rain stops, the ground beneath your home can keep releasing moisture for days. If you don’t seal with vapor barriers and proper drainage, you risk musty smells and sagging floors. EverDry’s crawlspace waterproofing is designed for exactly these local conditions.
Costs for crawl space encapsulation depend on square footage, how much prep is required, and any repairs that need doing first. Most Schererville projects fall between a few thousand to several thousand dollars. After the free inspection, you’ll get a firm quote with all costs detailed, including options for vapor barriers, drainage, and ventilation.
Encapsulating older dirt crawl spaces in Schererville is very doable, and often a smart move. Most homes don’t need a new floor above—proper crawl space repair and sealing works from below, blocking ground moisture and preserving your existing floor. EverDry customizes each solution for the age and structure of your house.
Soft floors and musty odor often mean active crawl space moisture—waiting only lets wood rot and pests get worse in Schererville’s humid climate. Acting sooner keeps the repair cost down and makes your home healthier. Our inspection is free, and you’ll get real answers on the timeline and options.
A DIY plastic liner won’t control moisture for long. True crawl space waterproofing includes vapor barriers, sealing, drainage, and air quality upgrades. If you live in Schererville, local soil and weather make it easy for water to sneak in along the edges or flooring gaps. DIY jobs often miss long-term moisture sources that professionals address.
